Art helps me pay attention. Through a lens, I notice more: by taking everyday scenes out of their contextual reality, I get a front seat to wonder and surprise, seeing anew the patterns and textures of my surroundings. Brush and paint let me explore light and color while injecting their own happy accidents into the mark-making process.
My first round of undergrad studies focused on oil painting and drawing. Following graduation I continued that work and added photography, jewelry design and most recently textile design. In 2018, I finished an AAS in Textile Surface Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology, spent three weeks studying textiles in India and another month at an artist residency in Morocco. Today I work as a textile print designer in New York City.
