Art making helps me pay attention. Through a lens, I notice more - by taking everyday scenes out of their contextual reality, I get a front seat to wonder and surprise, seeing anew the patterns and textures of my surroundings. Brush and marker let me explore light and color while injecting their own happy accidents into the process.
My first round of undergrad studies focused on painting, and following graduation I continued that work and added photography, jewelry design and most recently textile design. I'm heading back to school this fall, to get an AAS in Textile Surface Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, graduating May 2018.
